Story of Yellow Ox

The story of the yellow ox…

Once upon a time, a herd of oxen lived in one of the pastures. The story of the yellow ox begins in this pasture. Lions lived around the pasture. The eyes of the lions were always on these oxen. When the oxen came together as soon as the lions attacked, the lions had nothing to do. Therefore, the lions, who had to feed on small animals and were weakened because they could not be fed to the fullest, found a way to eat well.

Lame Lion, who has a authority in the lion herd, took a few more lions with him and raised the white flag and reached the ox herd. The leader of the ox herd, the Gray Ox, and the elders next to him began to talk sweetly:

“Dear ox lords. We came here today to apologize to you. I know we’ve hurt you so far, but believe me, we didn’t do any of this on purpose. It’s all the fault of that yellow ox. Its color is different from yours and it dazzles us, it blows our minds. We, too, forget our pacifism and become aggressive. We have not problem with you. Give us the yellow ox and get rid of it. In this way we will live in peace again.”

Yellow Ox

The Gray Ox and the pasture board of elders consulted on this issue and they accepted Lame Lion’s offer. They think so that we could graze more comfortably without fear, and gave the Yellow Ox to the lions. Only the Spotted Ox objected to the decision, but he could not explain anyone his problem.

Long Tail

After a while, the hungry lions came again with the same tactic, this time asking for the Long Tail:

“See how peace-loving we are. We congratulate you on your decision. However, your Long Tail, it looks like it’s wagging its tail and it blows our minds. We are having a hard time not attacking you. However, you are normal tails. Give it to us, Let’s close this issue and continue to live in peace.”

Even though the Spotted Ox objected, the Gray Ox and the elders committee delivered the Long Tail. Long Tail perished under the claws of lions.

This event is repeated one after another. Lame Lion took one of the oxen away with different excuses each time. As their numbers dwindled, the herd of oxen eventually weakened, and the lions grew more arrogant. From now on, they started to say, “Give us this, if not it will be bad!” by intervening directly, without making any excuses.

While the oxen were dying in the clutches of the lions one by one, the Gray Ox and a few oxen were left behind. One of them asked their leader, “What happened to us, where did we lose this war? Whereas, how strong were we in old times?”

Gray Ox, remembering the words of the Spotted Ox, with moist eyes; He said, “We should have listened to the speckled ox; We were never going to give the Yellow Ox…”

Who is the culprit in this story? The Lame Lion who set up the plan that caused the oxen to perish one by one and deceived the oxen? If oxen had the power to judge Lame Lion, the oxen would have ruled murder of it. But the lion herd would reward to Lame Lion with a medal for his contributions to the herd.

How will Lame Lion find a response on the hereafter?

If we are not to be held responsible for what we do unknowingly, will Gray Ox be blamed for his decision?
